Farewell

How do you count down The days left for your departure How do you prepare for a new beginning Leaving Everything you love and cherish behind How do you stop that ache in your heart ? How do you stop that tear from rolling down ? And How do you really do it all ? You are accustomed to the smell in the air The sights that you behold daily Your are familiar with the people And their comforting company  And yet, Such is life Not a pond that you can keep swimming on  But a river that flows onward and onwards  Where you'd have to go with the flow till you drain into your sea I hope I am not forgotten By these streets that I walked everyday  These roofs that sheltered me every night  These walls that's seen me cry and laugh These corridors that have seen my joy amd sorrow  And these people Whom I keep fondly in my heart And I hope someday in my future  Our path will crosss again And we share one last drink Sitting side by side, besides a warming fire For ol...

You and Me

I don't know how We went from holding hands To Holding grudges To dreading a moment apart To dreading a moment together  To seeing the future together To seeing a separate dream To looking forward to seeing each other To looking forward to seeing others How it all turned from rainbow and roses To a dark stormy night Was it me ? Or was it you ? Or was it both of us ? Or was it the distance ? Or was it the time ? Or was it the change in our hearts ? That we both were afraid of  That we both were aware of  And choose to ignore.

What makes us Human

Why does it always take A few words from someone special Just to liven up the soul  Why do we yearn for things That's ours only in dreams Why do we keep doing things That hurts us yet we never learn Why do we struggle upstream When all we need is a journey to the sea Why do we feel those things When feelings have been cruel to us Why do we remember things When memories are nothing but painful Why do we search for a glance When we know they are not near anymore  Why, why and why? I guess because that's what makes us human The joy and the pain The laughter and the tears The moments together and the memories apart The beautiful companionship and the haunting loneliness The belongingness and the longings The touch and the emptiness The fleeting presence And the lasting absence

The Undisputed Master of Courtroom Thrillers

John Grisham is as good as he is prolific. His numerous foray into the world of courtroom thrillers and beyond have filled up many bookracks. But, thankfully he hasn't compromised the quality of his writing. Year after year, he continues to deliver excellent courtroom thrillers, tying it up with vivid tales of corrupt institutions, corporate greed and the vices of law practices to which any reader would have been happily unaware. Although his first book, A Time to Kill wasn't popular initially, his next novel The Firm brought him worldwide recognition. And finally, his previous works also got the attention they deserved.  Each and every novel of John Grisham are undoubtedly the benchmarks in the genre, but today I'd like to pick my favourite and gush over it a little. Although it is very difficult to single out his best novel from the likes of The Firm, The Partner, The Pelican Brief, A Time to Kill , and so on,  I have picked a favourite. It's The Rainmaker. Surpris...

The Ekkos Clan and my First Author Encounter

Back in 2014, I was very much into Dan Brown- reading all his books in a spree. As everyone who has read The Da Vinci Code can attest to, once you've finished the book, there's only one thing to do, google books similar to it. And I was browsing through the suggestions google threw at me, one name caught my eye. The Ekkos clan , written by an IIT graduate, was featured in many lists. It's not every day you get to see such names, listed alongside Dan brown . And I got intrigued and started searching for the book details. I found the premise very interesting, a thriller set in Indian Subcontinent that combined ancient history, linguistic palaeontology, mathematics, music and a mystery story. And I set out to search for the book in the bookshops of Kathmandu. Sadly, I couldn't find any that had the book available. And since Indian online portal Flipkart didn't deliver to Kathmandu, I had given up my hope. But showing a daring only 19 years have I emailed the author dir...
